Today’s Powerful Night Vision

Today night vision hunting is affordable for everyone. Not cheap Gen 1 left overs, state of the art 2018 digital CMOS chip technology let’s creates digital night vision scopes that see in the dark with amazing clarity that rivals the old Gen 2+ intensifier (I2) tube technology.

Digital night vision technology advances every few months.  Just like cell phones and computers, digital night vision is based on micro chip technology that is just now coming of age.  That is not true about thermal or I2 night vision technologies that are based more on analog physical devices.  Digital night vision technology is advancing and are being used to build the products of the future.

All digital night vision works the same way.  It uses an IR circuit board cameras to look through optics and convert invisible IR light into a visible black and white image on a display.  Digital Crosshairs’s eyepiece clip-on contains a high definition IR , low light camera that uses your quality day scope optics.

Digital Crosshairs was recently updated from the 900 TVL PC1099N to a PC1058 CMOS board that is 1000 TVL in resolution and 0.03 LUX.  The modular design of Digital Crosshairs enables it to easily be upgraded as the technology advances.  Investments in Digital Crosshairs units are protected from short-term technology advancements and never locked into older technology chip set.

Most digital night vision scopes use a near eye displays configured in the eyepiece of the scope to resemble the day scope hunters and shooters are familiar with.

Others use a gun mounted LCD to display screen.  The night vision capability of the system is  based on the IR circuit board camera, optics, and IR illumination source used.  The functionality and usability of the devise for hunting or shooting depends on the way the manufacturer fabricates the device, but the basic technology is the same.

Digital Crosshairs uses a rail mounted 4.3″ display.  It can be mounted any place on the weapon that you have a picatinny rail.  The kit come with a picatinny rail adapter that add a rail to a standard 1″ or 30mm scope tube.  The display can be dimmed and red screen protectors are available for customers that prefer a red tint to the screen.

Night time hunters can easily identify pray at 150 to 250 yards with Digital Crosshairs 1000 dependent on the quality of the scope they attach it to.  Compare this with scopes that cost thousands of dollars more.  As you can see in the video above, we are talking target identification at these ranges.

IR night vision turns infra red light which is invisible to the human eye into a visible image on a near-eye or LCD display.  Mounting an LCD display to a rifle with a video camera looking down a scope was started by DIY hobbyist and often this type of fabrication is referred to as DIY.  This type of night vision build has been developed into marketed products by companies like NiteSite and Digital FOV, maker of Digital Crosshairs.

All IR night vision needs a good source of infra red light to function at night.  NiteSite provides a proprietary IR illuminator that is actually part of the products fabrication.  Digital Crosshairs provides an 850nm focusable Ir illuminator that is based on the OSRAM SFH471xAS OSLON Black Series Infrared LEDs, the best IR emitter technology made today, bar none!  Digital Crosshairs emmitter, custom circuit boards and high quality UniqueFire T-20 hardware builds in quality.  The better your illuminator the better your night vision will be, long range or closer in.

Digital night vision solutions come as standard dedicated scopes and clip-ons.  Digital FOV, LLC have put a lot of time and effort in to developing a very versatile mounting system.  It can be attached to any gun in less than one minute.  The display and illuminators can be mounted in a many different configurations on rail and non-rail weapons.

Digital Crosshairs 1000 is a component based design.  Clip-on, display, wiring harness, battery, illuminator, and mounts can be independently serviced, replaced, updated and replacement parts can easily be substituted.  Also, special wiring, recording, and video transmission add-on are available upon request.

I highly recommend the Digital Crosshairs 1000 to anyone who has a need for this product. I get a crystal clear image in the dead of night. I mounted mine to my Barnett crossbow and it works flawlessly. If you have coyote problems like we do, this may be just what you are looking for. It can quickly change to my AR15 as well, so that is really handy! Try it, you’ll love it.
